How to record footage for more stable detection

  • Keep the moments before and after each shot instead of trimming each attempt too tightly.
  • Prefer clear footage with a visible rim that your browser can play directly.

Camera movement affects tracking

Small shifts can be followed automatically. If the rim moves significantly, the tool pauses and asks you to recalibrate.

Is HoopCut suitable for a full game?

It works best for fixed-camera shooting practice, half-court recordings, and personal basketball videos. A full game with frequent camera movement needs more manual recalibration.

Do I need to upload a video?

No. The browser reads your local file, and the source video, analysis, and export all stay on your current device.

Why review the candidates?

Automatic detection can be affected by occlusion, blur, and the rim angle. Reviewing removes false detections and lets you add missed shots back to the candidates.
